Important: Read this before you begin!
To use the interactive keys you need to download a small program before you begin. You will be required to restart your computer after installation; before being able to run the keys.
If you already have Intkey installed you may skip these instructions
and proceed directly to the key links listed below. If you do not already have Intkey installed INTKEY can be obtained here or can be obtained directly from the Delta Programs Page. The entire Delta suite, which allows you to create your own keys, can be
obtained here.
Instructions for using DELTA to produce your own interactive keys using INTKEY may be found on the Delta Programs Page and K. Seltmann's Thesis on Building Interactive Keys using INTKEY.
If you already have INTKEY installed on your PC
The keys will generally begin automatically once you have selected an interactive key by double clicking
the link. An introductory image of a representative taxon will appear at the start of a new key.
Problems with running the keys
Only runs on Windows and virtual PC (with limited success).
Some versions of Firefox/Netscape will not automatically open the Keys; easiest solution is to switch to another browser (Internet Explorer).
Always open this file from its current location. If this does not open Intkey automatically
Do not click "Save this file to disk," this will not download the dataset. If the key does not open properly, you may have too many internet files stored on your computer. Under internet options
delete cookies and temporary internet files.
